Privacy Policy
Last Revised: 2026-07-11
This Privacy Policy explains how VidHelper("we", "us", or "our") handles personal information when you use VidHelper.app, our browser extension, licensing services, checkout links, or support (collectively, the "Service").
Information We Process
- Website and technical data: IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, referring page, and security or diagnostic logs generated when you use the website or licensing API.
- Purchase and license data: name, email address, order and product details, subscription or payment status, license key, and activation information such as an instance name or identifier. Payment processors handle your full payment card details; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Extension data: when you use detection, download, or recording features, the extension may access the active tab's URL and page content, media URLs and metadata, and audio or video you choose to capture. This access is used to provide the feature you request. Media processing and downloads generally occur on your device; we do not receive the media you download or record unless you choose to send it to us, such as in a support request.
- Communications: your email address, message, attachments, and related information when you contact support.
How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure the Service;
- Process purchases and activate or validate licenses;
- Respond to support requests and service communications;
- Prevent fraud, abuse, copyright infringement, and violations of our Terms; and
- Comply with law and enforce our legal rights.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where we specifically request it.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website may use cookies or local storage that are necessary to provide requested features, remember settings, or maintain security. The website does not currently include Google Analytics or advertising-tracking code. Our hosting and checkout providers may set their own cookies under their privacy notices when you use their services.
How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information to:
- Checkout, merchant-of-record, subscription, and license providers needed to process your order and provide your license;
- Hosting, infrastructure, security, and support providers acting on our behalf;
- Authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or respond to valid legal process; and
- A buyer, successor, or adviser in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising based on our current practices.
International Processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use an approved transfer mechanism or other appropriate safeguard for these transfers. Contact us to request more information about applicable safeguards.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above. Retention depends on the type of information, the duration of your license or subscription, support and security needs, legal and accounting requirements, and the need to resolve disputes. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, unless law permits or requires longer retention.
Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; or to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to appeal our response or complain to your local data protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions.
To submit a request, email support@vidhelper.app. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy and update the revision date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
